MATT OGDEN
Head Instructor
Matt Ogden, a martial arts prodigy, embarked on his journey at the age of 4, founding Black Dragon Blitzers alongside his mother Rita in 1998. His roots in Wado Ryu Karate led to a remarkable 2nd-degree black belt, later attaining a prestigious 7th-degree black belt in Hop Kuin Do Kickboxing. Matt boasts an impressive global presence, clinching 6 world champion titles and numerous competition victories, earning him a place in martial arts hall of fame.
Beyond the dojo, Matt showcased his skills in the cinematic realm, spending two weeks in America filming a fight scene alongside legends like Cynthia Rothrock. Notably, he co-founded the Double Dragon Fight Stunt team aiming to leave an indelible mark in the world of film. Matt Ogden continues to inspire with his multifaceted success in martial arts and the silver screen
KAREN NIXON

Karen Nixon, a stalwart in our kickboxing community since 2001, embarked on her journey to mastery. Holding an impressive 3rd Dan in kickboxing, Karen not only excels in the striking art but extends her expertise to gymnastics instruction. Beyond our walls, she dedicates herself to honing her skills in boxing. Karen's versatility, knowledge, and commitment make her an invaluable asset to our team, enriching the learning experience for all.
DOM SMALE

​Dominic Smale is a seasoned martial artist, holding a 3rd Dan black belt in freestyle kickboxing and a 1st-degree black belt in Hop Kuin Do. With five years of dedicated training in Lau Gar Kung Fu, Dominic's martial arts journey began in 1998 with the Black Dragon Blitzers. His passion led him to numerous competition successes and a notable appearance in a martial arts movie alongside Cynthia Rothrock, which took him to the film sets in America for two weeks.
In 2016, Dominic embraced a full-time role as an instructor at Black Dragon Blitzers Kickboxing. Recently, he co-founded the Double Dragon Stunt Team with Matt Ogden, aspiring to make a mark in the world of film with their martial arts expertise. Dominic's dedication, skills, and martial arts journey continue to inspire those around him.
JOE GRINHAM

In 2010, Joe Grinham initiated his martial arts odyssey, achieving a 1st Dan black belt in freestyle kickboxing. Renowned for his skills, he boasts multiple competition titles at Infinity South West and W.U.M.A, where he earned the esteemed titles of British and National Champion. Notably, Joe's success extends to the Welsh Fight Night Championship, solidifying his standing as a force to be reckoned with. A valued member of Black Dragon Blitzers Kickboxing, his contributions have left an indelible mark on the martial arts landscape.

Meet Carter Davies, a rising star and integral part of our martial arts community. Joining our ranks in 2013, he has swiftly ascended to a 2nd black belt in freestyle kickboxing. Carter's prowess extends to the competitive arena, where he has clinched numerous victories and continues to make his mark.
As a key member of our fight squad, Carter embodies dedication and skill. Beyond his success in competitions, he has seamlessly transitioned into an excellent instructor, sharing his expertise with enthusiasm and precision. Carter Davies stands as a testament to the potential that blossoms within our community, embodying the values of discipline, achievement, and mentorship.

Since the age of 4, Alex Thrush has been immersed in martial arts, achieving a 2nd Dan in kickboxing as a testament to his dedication.
